Ritchie Jones is pushing for a recall having impressed for the reserves.

Hartlepool United director of sport Chris Turner told BBC Tees: "You've seen teams before go through a division and challenge the play-offs but that's virtually impossible now.

"You can write down the top eight teams at the start of the season and not have anybody missing out of those eight clubs up there apart from possibly Brighton.

"So anybody coming into the division with aspirations of going through to the Championship I think it's very hard now because of the quality in this league."
